Bear Valley Timber Ltd is a family run arboriculture business based in Northamptonshire. Founded in 2016, Bear Valley Timber Ltd has organically grown into a leading tree firm in the local area due to our focus on our quality, our people and our sustainable approach to tree surgery.
We serve both commercial and residential clients across the UK with a variety of works across complex projects, including many firms on behalf of the Government, delivering highly regulated service requirements.
As the industry continues to evolve, Bear Valley Timber Ltd has heavily invested in large scale machinery to further support our clients and to strengthen our skillsets and service offering. As an example, we have recently invested in two John Deere 6R155 tractors with front verge mower and rear side arm flail, a 14 tonne Doosan excavator with TMK tree shear and Intermacado timber grab and a 3 tonne Bobcat excavator with Intermacado timber grab.
Our team of experienced arborists, climbers and ground staff work together on a variety of projects and have the required expertise to carry out any type of tree work, from tree work (felling, pruning, planting, stump grinding), across maintenance (grass cutting, estate management, woodlands), planning applications, emergency works through to full clearance works.
We aim to provide a high quality service to keep your trees and landscape well maintained, whilst taking an environmentally conscious approach to all of our projects, both across commercial and domestic works. Our team are directly employed and are fully qualified and experienced in the operations they undertake with the necessary qualifications required to bring an experienced and highly skilled team to our clients.
As a Sustainability and Social Value conscious company, Bear Valley Timber is passionate around how we can contribute to protecting the environment with the works we deliver. We continue to evolve our operating practices to be environmentally aware, we share vehicles where possible, we use biodegradable fuels such as hydraulic fluids, we use environmentally friendly chainsaw oil and we are currently exploring the potential of electrical hand tools to continue to drive this agenda.
In addition to our internal mission, we also advise our clients on how we could remain ecologically aware when conducting works. We consult our clients on the most effective ways to meet their requirements, whilst seeking ways we can add value through advisory services to add habitats or contribute to the environment to produce sustainable products from the waste created. We continue to work with schools, charities and local authorities in this way to provide support services whilst delivering Social Value.

Family Run Business – Bear Valley Timber is owned by Bob Claridge alongside his wife and business partner, Roanna Claridge. Together they drive an inclusive environment, working collectively to achieve a mutual goal, to be a company people want to work for!

We conduct sustainable works and seek ways to ‘give back’ to our environment and communities.
Our Bear Valley Timber Team
Bear Valley Timber was founded in 2016, by our owner, Bob Claridge. As a well renowned fully qualified tree surgeon by trade, Bob began to grow the company to expand on his vision for the tree surgery industry.
Bob began his career by studying arboriculture at Moulton College, Northamptonshire, where he discovered his passion for the industry. He then worked across Northamptonshire as a tree surgeon for many years gaining valuable experience, until he decided to work in Australia to gain further experience in specialised requirements on large scale trees and exotic species.
Bob then returned to the UK to begin working more specifically on commercial works and studied the mechanised side of the industry. Bob then began Bear Valley Timber to become not just a tree surgery specialist, but also become specialised in mechanised tree surgical works and clearances. From there Bear Valley Timber soon become a supplier across some of the biggest clearance projects in the UK such as HS2, and well as delivered commercial sustainability projects such as grass cutting on major roadways, tree and wild flower planting and working across the railways.
Bob is husband to Roanna Claridge and father to son, Alfie, who at the age of 2 years old, is already following in his father’s footsteps with a passion for tractors and diggers! Bob also has a fox red labrador named Ted, who regularly appears as our company mascot on our social media page!
Our Bear Valley Timber family is now ten strong, all fully qualified and insured, each bringing with them a wealth of experience and specialisms to bring to the Bear Valley Timber repertoire, which gives our clients the confidence in our ability to deliver the highest quality and professionalism in every aspect of their service delivery.
